How much do debt settlement/relief services cost?

Most debt settlement companies charge 15%-25% of your debt amount in exchange for their services. So, if you owe $10K, you could end up paying as much as $2,500 for the debt settlement company’s assistance, regardless of how much they saved you by negotiating a lower balance.

Alternatively, PS Legal Services will settle your debt for 10% of the settlement savings on each settled account! So, if you owe $10K and we negotiate a settlement of $6,750, the difference, or the amount we saved you, is $3,250. PS Legal Services would collect 10% of what you saved. It is a lot cheaper than hiring an attorney or enrolling in a high-cost debt relief program! Plus, fees are not due until both you and the creditor have agreed to the settlement in writing, and the first payment toward the new balance has been made.

What is a Certified Consumer Debt Specialist?

A Certified Consumer Debt Specialist, "CDS" or "CCDS" is a professional designation awarded to debt settlement professionals who pass a certification exam. They are skilled in consumer finance management, debt restructuring of defaulted accounts, debt counseling, and settlement negotiations. The CCDS designation is awarded by the International Association of Professional Debt Arbitrators (IAPDA) and the Center for Financial Certifications, allowing those who successfully complete the education and training to use the designated "CDS" or "CCDS" after their name. Every two years, specialists must complete 20 hours of continuing education and pay a fee to retain the designation.

  • Note: The accreditation and certification of a Debt Relief company and/or their Debt Specialists is an important feature to consider when deciding enrollment into a debt settlement program.

 

 

 

How long would it take to resolve my issues?

The time it takes to resolve settling a debt can vary significantly depending on various factors, such as the complexity of the case, communication schedules and cooperation of the parties involved, etc. Regardless, PS Legal Services promises to keep each and every client duly informed about the progress of the work being done for them.

Will I have legal representation in court if I am sued?

No. PS Legal Services is not a law firm nor can we represent you in court, should you be served a lawsuit. If you are sued, whether it is on an account we are trying to settle or it is for something that is unrelated, PS Legal Services can timely prepare all defense legal documents, plus give you the resources of self-representation or referrals for representation, should your case go to trial.

  • Note: Clients must be a party (Defendant) in "pro per" or a "pro se" litigant to a lawsuit at the time of retaining PS Legal Services for legal support. All clients are responsible for the signing and association of court documents related to their civil case.
